Hi, I bought my 32-gig iPhone 4 from AT&T in April of 2011 or thereabouts. I have some questions about the phone, which has suddenly developed a problem with the Sleep/Wake switch. It's gotten really difficult to press for some reason and doesn't stand out as much as the switch on my friend's iPhone 4. The phone has seen a lot of use and has been dropped a time or two in the past, but never on a hard surface, and I always keep it in an Otterbox Defender case. It has not been dropped recently.
So my questions are these: 1. Has anybody heard of the on/off switches getting funky from normal wear and tear on the iPhone 4? 2. I can't remember buying Apple Care for it, but my girlfriend swears that I did. Is there a way to check that through the Apple website or would that information be available on the phone itself? 3. I'm eligible for an upgrade but money's tight right now. Assuming that I don't have Apple Care, would Apple replace the device or repair it, and how much is that apt to cost me? 4. Would I be better off taking it back to my local AT&T store to see what they can do for me? Thanks in advance.
