Maybe this will be easier. What I am finding works better is to double tap with one finger and hold. Then without letting my finger up I slide my finger. It doesn't seem to matter whether I slide to right or left but I haven't tried up or down. it doesn't matter how far. Then when I lift my finger and flick I find the 'confirm delete" button. It will stay there until you either confirm delete or double tap the note which doesn't open it bur removes the confirm delete. Double tap swipe doesn't work for me either but double tap-hold-slide is working every time. Be sure you hold till you hear the tritone.
