Also there is a clear all button at the top left of the screen and slightly down the left side of the screen. This button is in the main screen of the messages app. It will delete all threads and all messages. You don't need to turn the roter. Just put your finger on one of the messages to delete. Then flick up and you will here"delete" tap gain and away the message goes. Good luck.
