I tried both touch and standard too and found I like standard better also.

Hi, I just turned it on for my new IPhone 5. From the home page, hit the
home button once to go to the Search page. Then use the roter to find
typing mode. Then with one finger swipe quickly to find the typing mode
choices, when you hear, "Touch Typing," tap twice, and it will be turned
on.

I'm new to the group. Just got my iphone yesterday and am loving it.
Trying to figure out how to turn on touch typing as everyone has
bragged about it, but I can't find it in the menus. Any ideas?
I gotta say, tis touch screen navigation isn't all that bad.
