Not to "rain on anybody's parade" but, a specific phrase in that Kim
Commando blurb gives me serious pause as to whether this app would be of any
benefit to sight impaired users.
"Just point and shoot a photo of the document you wish to digitize and
Genius Scan will turn the document into a PDF or JPEG photo."
What this sentence means that the Genius Scan will take a photograph of
subject document, nothing here to indicate Optical Character Recognition and
conversion into text. Folks, if Genius Scan only creates photographs of a
document you have to be able to see to use it. Unless, you have an OCR app
that can "look at" the picture for you and do the conversion. There is no
screen reading software that can translate a picture of the word "w o r d"
into the text "w o r d" and that is that, much as I wish I could say this is
not so.
