Unfortunately, when I downloaded at bat, then tried to log into it, before
paying for it, using my email and password from my pc account, it just sent me
back to the screen where I had selected to log into at bat. It didn't say I
couldn't log in, just sent me back to the previous screen. When I checked the
help, it said that I had to have the TV account to access at bat for free, I
only have the audio. So, I paid for both of them, I really didn't mind.

Yes, that should be tried. I did the opposite: renewed with gameday audio
automatically and then ran the update and wasn't asked (at least not yet!) to
pay for the atbat subscription. But if i'd paid for atbat instead and then
didn't have to pay for gameday audio, it would have been cheaper. But I haven't
actually found anything on the website that says it only requires one
subscription for both; I do believe that it's free with mlbtv premium but not
sure about regular mlbtv. Part of the confusion is that I've noticed in
previous years that not all the information on the mlb website always gets
changed until the actual season starts.

You can pay the subscription at any time, since the season starts
today. As far as the new features being announced on opening day, we'll have to
wait until after spring training for that. Also, if you have an Apple TV, you
can use your mlb.com account if you buy MLB.TV premium to stream the games
