Well, When I teach it, I usually start out by opening the practice area and having the student practice various gestures or keyboard and braille display commands depending on how they plan to use the phone. The practice area is conveniently located in settings, general, accessibility, voiceover, voiceover practice.
Then I arrange the screen for the user so that the apps they want to start using right away are in the most convenient location on the screen for their individual needs. Then I start with the apps that are most interesting to each individual user. It really is all a matter of personal taste.
