Hi Neal, There's nothing I know of out there for iOS that will do what you want. Apps are sandboxed and cannot really interact with each other unless there are specific API hooks in place to accomplish specific tasks (i.e. using "open in" to send a file to the Dropbox app). Recording is definitely not something that the Skype app provides so the only way to do it is as you described, put the call on speakerphone and record using another app. That means the quality isn't going to be fabulous. If you are doing a podcast or radio work and need to record a call in the highest possible quality, I'd recommend using a computer or using an app like Groundwire that allows you to place calls using a SIP account and record them.
