If you can see well enough to find the bar code you might be able to make a bar-code reader work. If you can't, and don't have any help, it probably isn't worth getting an app for that. I've never tried one in a store but I think I've heard of people who have. When they work they can be very nice because you can get package directions and nutrition information.
