Yes, Google Reader is a dedicated RSS reader. I don't know that it has
the ability to send out emails. It's interface is web based, but it has
an API that clients can use to sync your feeds with, so feeds you've
read on one client will be marked read on all clients.

Several years ago I set up several RSS feeds that i customized by
choosing a key word and I receive both email messages and RSS feeds with
newspaper articles with those particular key words in them. I set this
up by going to googlenews.com
Is this what you're all talking about or is this an app?
I really like getting these articles and hope that they don't stop as of
July 1st.

Talk about a major bummer.
Can anyone recommend accessible alternatives to Reader? Something that
would work with apps for i-devices too? I’m currently using Feedller on
boht my iPad and iPhone. I’ve got over two hundred and fifty
subscriptions and even though I use my pc a lot, I’ve gotte to the point
where I reach for my phone or iPad to sift through the various rss
entries as much as I do through the computer. This is really going to suck.
