You might want to go into your App Switcher and close some apps to see if this helps. My sighted wife wasn't able to take any pictures on her iPhone 5 the other day, and I fixed it for her by triple clicking the home button, removing all of the apps from her App Switcher and triple clicking the home button before returning it to her.
