We maybe as little as 3 months away from the release of this year's new iPhone at which point the 4S will become what the 4 is now, the iPhone 4 may stick around for another year or so, but why not spend the extra $100 and get an iPhone 5? Going forward all iDevices have the Lightning connector so if you get a 4S and end up maybe getting speakers or docks, none of these will work without an adapter down the road.
