I agree that it's ridiculous that the iPad Mini will be the iPhone 6. I
also think it's a waste of time to be speculating about these things,
but I'm sure a lot of people think a lot of what I do is a waste of
time, like following March Madness! Since so many people like to
speculate and follow rumors though, there must be something interesting
about it for some people.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that the iPad Mini is too big to ever be
considered a cell phone though. That was what was said about the Samsung
Note, which is wildly popular and lead to a new term the phablet to
describe those devices somewhere between a smart phone and a tablet. I
just read recently that the definition of phablet, at least for some, is
starting to go up to 6.5 inch displays. I myself would never say that a
7 inch smart phone or phablet is utterly rediculous, but that doesn't
mean I'd ever buy one myself!

Only rumors at this time, speculation is that apple may upgrade the mini
and put a phone chip and that will be the six. Doubt that, but hey
rumors are cheap.
