Even though the speed test app, recently discussed on this list, tells me I get about 13 meg down over my WIFI connection, and comparable speeds with my Verizon connection, downloading over WIFI is sometimes intensely slow.Using Downcast and WIFI, the Today In iOS podcast downloads at a reasonable rate, but some of the others, along with the App store, and iTunes, download at a rate, literally, at about 3 meg per minute. For testing purposes, I have downloaded two albums from iTunes, at different times of the day, each of which took about 50 minutes to download. Downcast will let me use the Verizon network, and those podcasts download at a reasonable rate.I have reset my network connections, and changed the channels on my router, with no better results. Using my pc, Podcasts, apps, and albums, download quickly. Needless to say, I mostly use my pc and transfer them to my phone.
I know that the iPhone 5 has had some WIFI issues, but do other 5 users have this type problem? I hope it is just my phone, and I need to take it back. Thanks for any opinions.
