Hello John, When you use the StandScan Pro, you lay the iPhone on top of it, with the camera pointing down through the hole. You can put your hand underneath to check that the camera really is right over the hole. If you're using Prizmo, you can tell the app to take the picture, so there's no risk of jiggling the phone.
