I used to have a pair of JVC noise canceling headphones that were excellent. I gave them to my wife when I got a pair of Bose for the iPhone that are not noise canceling, but sound fantastic. The JVCs sound very good, though. I do not know if they still make them, but that is a good brand to look for that generally costs a lot less. HTH,
