Did you get the StandScan or the StandScan Pro? The StandScan Pro has lights along the top back of the box that you plug in. If you got the StandScan, it is highly likely you do not have enough light on your document. Also, is your iPhone completely square to the top of the box? If not, your image is skewed and you will not get an understandable OCR.
