Hi, I mean no offense, but you must have set something incorrectly or you are not putting in a route. Navigon will not give you any voice feedback if you just open the app and walk around. If you are at your house wherever that is and you want to go to let's say the Best Buy which is a mile away, then you have to create a route and either put in the street address of the Best Buy or you have to see if you can find it as a Point of Interest maybe under Shopping. If you have Around Me you could see if you find it in there, then tap on the "Route" button and then if Navigon is on your phone you can pick Navigon as a routing application and Around Me will send the information to Navigon and all you have to do is tap on "Start" to start your route. Then once you start walking, Navigon will give you voice directions, but it will still not announce cross streets and so on, it will only tell you where you have to turn.
Of course you also have to make sure you have downloaded the maps for your area/state, that for best results you have the speed profile set to Pedestrian with Voice Announcement and that you select the TTS voice, not the human voice. The human voice will tell you, for example, "Turn left in 100 metres", but only the TTS voice would say, for example, "Turn left onto Main Street in 100 metres". Raul did a Podcast on how to properly enter addresses into Navigon, I think it's on Applevis. Regards, Sieghard -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
