Hi James, I just turned the brightness up on my iPod Touch 5th gen to 100%. I then activated the screen curtain with a triple 3-finger tap. I then went into Brightness and wallpaper and the percentage of screen brightness was still at 100%.
There might be a difference between iPod Touch 5th gen and iPhone, but all things being equal, the suggestion you conveyed below might not be true in terms of screen curtain regulating brightness.
