I have the same issues as described below. As others have already pointed out the timer and set alarms/record is still inaccessible and to me this is the most annoying thing with recent versions of TuneIn Radio. I'm considering installing ooTunes again but I see that it have not been updated since 2011 (don't remember the exact date). This makes me a bit skeptic since it looks like ooTunes is no longer in active development.
