People mention the audio drop in tunein radio while texting. The way I interpret it, this is purposeful so that you can concentrate on the text but still hear the speech in the background and not get distracted. I personally think it's quite nifty.

That said, I can tell you that the developer remains committed to providing prompt support to users of the app. The directory is extremely comprehensive and there are no accessibility issues like you find in TuneIn. The only downside is that unlike Tunein, Ootunes doesn't use location services so that it must remain in the foreground if you want a scheduled alarm/recording to play.
