Ah, you're right. I left my phone on mute until I got a text message,
and sure enough it just vibrated without saying anything. I could have
sworn I was in a class one day, my phone was on mute, and everyone in
the class got to hear my son's Father's Day wishes. Maybe I'd forgotten
to put my phone on mute. Sorry for the misinformation.
It does look like it takes your phone out of lock though, so touching
the screen will cause VO to start reading things out.
