I would think this would be OK. I know I've picked up tips and tricks from this list and other sources and passed them on to others. I'll try to give credit where possible, but I don't recall where I first heard about something like touch typing. Either way, speaking for myself, anyone is free to use any of my list contributions, not that my contributions compare to those of some others.

I'm also wondering, Raul, how will you host this? Will it be a wiki so people can update it directly? BTW, I would think organizing the questions would also be important and a non-trivial amount of work.

I have a question about sending in questions and answers for the FAQ. I
keep copies of pertinent portions of list emails in a folder for my own use
and I could come up with questions and put answers that have been given on
the list. Is this appropriate since the material is not necessarily my
own. I don't have the list members names to attribute the answers as I only
saved the pertinent sentences or paragraphs and often combined many answers
into one.
So is it worth my time to consolidate the information and send in material
for the page without being in danger of offending list members or have them
think I stole some information. I certainly don't want credit or blame for
any questions or answers.
Also, will the questions be posted frequently so we can check on which
questions have already been answered sufficiently? I would hate to spend
time putting together entries and find that someone else has already handled
that subject.

I am sending this to the list instead of privately since others might have
similar hesitation or strong feelings about this

Hi Lauren and everyone else reading this. I've been thinking of putting
together an faq list on one of my sites which would contain commonly
asked questions of iPhones, iOS, or maybe even specific apps. I've asked
this of list members before, but only 1 or 2 people wrote in with
suggestions. The thing is, if I put up the list, I don't want to be the
one who comes up with all the questions and answers. I'm willing to host
that FAQ on my site and get things set up, but I don't want to have to
update things when they change since there are many who have more time
with this.

So I ask again to those list members who might want to help contribute,
send me privately a question, and answer together in the same email, and
I'll start putting together a list of things. This is in no way meant to
take away from what is already out there, meaning places like
Applevis.com or other resources.

If you do send me questions and answers to hopefully be included, be
sure to write viphone faq in the subject line.

Don't send them to the list either. Thanks.

A better way of researching a question is by compiling a pool of go-to
resources and you will not have to ask the list at all. This will
probably eliminate many, many of the questions asked here on almost a
weekly cycle. Luckily for IOS there's lots of information out there.

Also, if you are going to give a presentation on the iPhone, why would
you not want to conduct lots of research whether podcast or otherwise.
Who knows what else you may not know or not even know to consider in
regards to other apps or features you will be presenting. In other
words, though you may not like it, information of all kinds is always
great information.
