Brian, I don't know the details of your specific keyboard, I have the
Amazon basics Bluetooth keyboard, so the layout is probably a bit
different.
but I'm farily certain you'll be able to do things like unlock the screen,
navigate from icon to icon, open and close apps, etc. from the keyboard
once you've learned how it is laid out.
Assuming you have already paired the keyboard and have someone around to
summarize the keyboard layout, , you can turn on the voice over help by
pressing the key combo of control and option plus the K key. Once you've
entered help, you can press any key on your keyboard and it will tell you
what that key is. If you press the control/option combo in conjunction
with another key, the help should tell you what those specific key presses
do.
The Amazon basics keyboard has a pair of command and option keys to either
side of the spacebar, so using the keyboard with other keys is farily
intuitive for someone used to typing.

hi,
yesterday i learned that a bluetooth keyboard only helps you type faster
when writing messages or on the net and you still have to hit sections
like message or safari on your phone.
are there other keyboards than what is sold at an apple store that let
you leave the phone in your pocket and are completely controlled by a
semi large keyboard?
along with this, what bt earpiece do people like?

I remember reading that many people recommended the Verbatim folding
Bluetooth Wireless keyboard from Amazon. When I went to the site, I
found four of them. I'd appreciate people's first-hand experience on
which one is best to buy. I don't need something to control music. I
just want a folding keyboard I can carry with me that opens up into a
decent sized keyboard so I don't spend more time making errors the way
I do on one of the teny, tiny keyboards when I try to type messages
and/or emails, etc.
