Hi Jenny, with wireless access to your home network turned off can you also
send or is this still a pesky problem?
Let us know - Ed.

Hello Jennifer,

Well, you could always turn off the Wi-Fi and go straight in using your LTE,
3G, or such. That will get you out of your inner circle.

However, I think you mentioned you are using the iCloud e-mail? If so, that is
odd it wouldn't work outside of your network.

So I'll give a better detail of what you should have set up if that is the
case. Plus, if your option does not work.

Server name: imap.mail.me.com
◾SSL Required: Yes
◾Port: 993
◾Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
◾Password: Your iCloud password

SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
◾Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
◾SSL Required: Yes
◾Port: 587
◾SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
◾Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
◾Password: Your iCloud password

HTH

Regards,
AnonyMouse

Hi

In the mail settings the iCloud SMTP Server is the primary one. The other SMTP
server is my ISP, which wasn't turned on. I have now turned it on.
Should this fix the problem? I'll have to wait till I'm away from home to
check it though.

If the SMTP server configuration was incorrect on her phone, I'd think she'd
see that everywhere and wouldn't be able to send email at all.
Obviously, it's something to check though.

Jenny,

I'm curious, who's your broadband service provider at home and who's your email
provider? Are they the same? If so, your email provider may have their SMTP
server set up to only send out emails that originate on their own internal
network. Companies do this to keep their SMTP servers from being used for spam.
Time Warner used to do this. If so, check with your service provider on how to
send emails from your phone. If not, check your SMTP settings and report back.
