Hi, another option I might have if I could find the right adapter is that I
have a number of over the ear microphones that work with cordless phones and
also work on my computer and other recorders. Unfortunately, Apple's wisdom
suggested to them that they reverse the wires to their microphone
connection, so none of these work with the iPhone. I have not yet found any
kind of adapter to make these work, but I am guessing there is something out
there. Anyone?

Subject: External microphone needed for iPhone 5

Hi all. I am looking for a microphone for my iPhone 5 that has the following
properties. I'm not sure I will find it, but I am not happy with any of the
ones I have.

I would like one that does not do noise canceling. I have found that most of
these do very strange things to the sound given the particular noise that is
in the background.

I would like it to have a boom that comes out close to my mouth. I think
that may be the killer and there may be none I can find like that. I have
found that the ear pods and others that have the microphone hanging off of
the wire sound way too far away.

I would like it to be wired, either one ear or two doesn't matter. I have
one of the best Bluetooth microphones of the lot, the Plantronics m50, and,
let's just say, I have heard way better.

It does not need to be stereo. Mono would be preferred.

Am I dreaming? I think so, but perhaps someone on this list might come up
with something.

Thanks much for reading and considering my question.
