Hi Andy, yes this, sadly, is a side effect of non local storage of maps. There's always going to be a lag when an application has to query a server over and over again to retrieve location information. This is why in my humble opinion, local storage of maps is almost always preferable for the end user. Unfortunately it's less cost effective for developers to go that route.
