There is an equalizer on iPhone that works very well. Go to settings, Music, E
Q. I would of rather had a choice of sliders to adjust but that's what I'm use
to but you can add bass or reduce it or have more treble etc and the default
setting is flat..

BTW, I just bought a set of the Apple EarPods and really like them. I used
the native music app to play one of my favorite albums and the drum tracks
sounded so much more present than with my old Apple earbuds. The difference,
to my ears, was pretty darn impressive.
