Just as with the iPhone, you don't need sighted assistance to start Talk Back on an Android phone running Android 4.0 or later. With Android 4.1 or later, instead of the triple click home option to toggle VoiceOver on, you place two fingers on the screen and leave them there for a few beats to activate Talk Back. Since this is a iPhone list, it's probably best to take Android and Talk Back questions to another list. I just wanted to try to change the misconception that you needed sighted assistance to start Talk Back on your Android 4.0 or later phone.

Hello! Yes, in the android phones, it is something called, talkback.
You have to go to settings, my devices, accessibility, and talk back
on and then hit ok. You will need sighted help. I don't know if
there is a tripple click home system, though. But yes, the
screenreader is called talkback. It is kind of like voiceover. It's
a little confusing to me, at least, don't know how other people feel.
I just like vo performance to be simpler. But of course, it is your
decision and you can use it with talkback and see if you like it or
not. I am afraid, I don't want to have to start this thread being in
to a talkback conversation as this is manily for iPhones, but I just
wanted to answer your question when you said equivalent to voiceover.
Thank you.

Hi,

if you want to ease your way into Android, why not buy a tablet? For
example, the nexus 7? Its relatively cheap, starting at $200, and you
won't
have any monthly recurring bills like with a phone.

Hi Everyone;

I am well submerged into the Ios6 platform.
I have been using it for almost 5 years come this October.

Anyhow, I would like to get a phone that uses the android platform.
I want to ease my way into it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
