Hi. Sorry if you've already modified this, but if you go to settings, general, accessibility, voice over on, and scroll down that page you should find a button which says "typing feedback". Here, you can set the typing feedback for both software and hardware keyboards, whether nothing is spoken or whether letters/words/both are spoken. It sounds like you may have it set to words only. If you've already done this, you may want to make sure the change has taken by going back into the settings application and making sure that your choice is still selected. Aman
