Hello Xivan,
I doubt you find anything that is more accessible than the contacts app on the iPhone and with a bit of practice I think you will find that it is super fast to find contacts. First of all, you can use SIRI to call people and for the most part it works very well. If you are somewhere you don't want to say who you are calling I think some of the other suggestions are worth your while to practice. As Joseph said, there is a search field at the top and if you type even 2 or 3 letters you often narrow the list enough to find who you are looking for quickly. What Chris says about using the Contacts tab in the Phone app makes no difference since it is the same as the actual Contacts app. Having said this, I rarely go into the Contacts app, it is actually inside my Utilities folder on my second home page since mostly when I need a contact I want to either call, email or text them and I can access the contact information from all of those apps. Another very efficient way to find people is to use the Table Index. Once you are in your list of Contacts, touch the very right of the screen. Voiceover will say "Table Index, Adjustable". You can now either flick down with one finger on the screen to move to a particular letter of the alphabet, let's say for example, you want "F", you just flick down 5 times and at that point you have all your contacts starting with "F" starting at the top of the screen. You can also do a double tap and old once you are on the Tavle Index, then drag your finger down the screen and you can super fast move to a letter towards the end of the alphabet. As with all gestures, this does take a bit of practice. If you do have an iPhone 4S or 5, you can also say "Show Me" followed by a name in your contacts list and SIRI will display the contact information. You can double tap on a phone number to call it, double tap on the email address to start an email etc. Good luck, Sieghard I find it much accesses the same From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of zkrisher Sent: Monday, July 08, 2013 3:53 AM To: [email protected] Subject: iPhone Contacts alternative Hello, I've been using IOS with VoiceOver for about 3 years. However, I'm new to iPhone and the contacts app. I'm finding this app a bit cumbersom. It takes many clicks to find someone and then select the way you want to contact him. I just want to make phone calls, and I can't put everyone in the favorites lits. What contacts app are you guys using? Is there an accessible alternative to the native app?
