Yeah, once you get to level ten or so, you can enter the arena and
challenge other castles. You also have some quests show up where you
have to beat so many opponents of a certain level or win so many battles
with a particular hero. You get fold and esper for these quests but not
experience, so they don't contribute to your moving up levels. You can
definitely play the game without going into the arena, but it's fun to
beat up on another castle's heroes. You can also learn a lot about your
heroes and how to build a party to go questing by practicing in the arena.
I'm not sure if tournaments started when I reached a certain level, or
if they were added in the last Solara update, but now when I enter the
arena, I join a tournament. Tournaments seem to last five days, and you
get some prizes (gold or esper) depending on how well you do in the
tournament. I don't play enough to compete with the top guys, but I
like to finish in the teens and get a few thousand gold. I usually do OK
in the arena, but inevitably I get too cocky or get bored looking for
suitable opponents and end up getting my butt kicked by guys I have no
right to be battling.

Hi, you mentioned that you are in a tournament. I have not gotten into any
tournaments yet. Can you play without best part if you are not in tournaments?
Thank you. God bless to all, wren

Hello,
From my experience you need to hit the button of what Esper you wish
to purchase, and then click it again to confirm your purchase. One
note I have is that the form, to enter your password, is fairly hard
to get to work; it doesn't act like the normal App Store keyboard for
some reason.
Thanks,
Denny

So you went to the IAP Store and Treasure and swiped down to the Esper
section. I see an option for 200 esper for $1.99. The $1.99 is a button,
so I would assume that by double tapping on that, you'd spend $1.99 of
real money and get another 200 esper in your game. Is that not what
happens? You can also get to the IAP Store and Treasure by double
tapping on your esper amount at the top of the screen.
BTW, I'm glad I checked since that's where my tournament winnings ended
up, and you actually have to claim them before they end up in your gold
stores.

oh, I should add that I did go to the I-app and treasure area, and when I
press any of the esper buttons, nothing happens.

Well, I got myself into a position in which I used food to train up my

You are correct. You don't need Esper to play; oh, it would be nice to
have, but it's not necessary.

So far, I haven't needed esper to play the game. There are plenty of
buildings to build with gold, and I've gotten to level 29 without
having to build anything with esper or spending any esper at all
really. It'll take longer, but I don't see where acquiring or buying
esper is necessary.

Hi, if you run out of eschar, you will be asked if you want to get
more. You double tap on the get more button and you can buy it. Keep
flicking to the right once that option comes up and you will see more
things to buy. I get frustrated because I keep running out of S car
and have to continue to buy it. I wish you could buy things with the
gold you are in Celar oh. Sorry, that is supposed to be with the gold
you earn in so Laro. I get a lot of that, but most things use the S
car and I have to continue buying it. Any workarounds for that? I
don't think so. Smile. God bless, wren

Hi, all,
In the In-app area, I see a lot of things to by with esper, but not
anything to buy with real money. I'd like to perhaps buy esper or
something. I think I could be missing something obvious here. What
can I pay for with real-life cash, and how does one buy it? The devs
did a great job, and I'd like to give them a bit of monetary
support.
Thanks,
