According to USAToday, the new iPhone should be out September 10,2013. I've waited sense last Christmas. A new iPhone was the Christmas present my wife and I gave each other. Just a wee bit late! <grin> But I've heard the old it's coming out on such a date before! -------

However, the 4S should perform pretty good, I have a 4S myself and rarely have any issues. If you plan to upgrade in a month anyways you might not want to bother with this, but a factory reset may give you a significant improvement. It's a bit of work to resync everything and get all your settings put in again, set up your email accounts and all that, but it might just be worth the effort. Sometimes restarting the app or rebooting the phone helps, sometimes not. I think that is just how it goes with computers. Not to say that an upgrade wouldn't help. I'm just saying that, with devices like this, I think that dealing with some sluggishness is just part of it.
