Hi Tessa, I don't know of any apps which notify you about sale prices on things like movies or music. I do know that they do have specials, right now for example you can buy I think all 8 original Star Trek movies for $50.
As for music, you could always digitize your cassettes, then pay $25 a year for iTunes Match which matches any of your songs with copies iTunes has. So, here is what I would do: Digitize your cassettes and, for example, convert them into 128 bit MP3 songs. Add these songs to your iTunes music library, then buy iTunes Match. Now iTunes will compare what is in your library with what the iTunes Store has and it will replace any of your music it finds with albums/songs from the iTunes Store in iTunes quality which is 256 KBPS. You would of course need a way to hook a tape deck up to your computer and use something like GoldWave to record the music that is playing on your tape deck to your computer. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a gadget or simply an adapter from RCA to 30-Pin or Lightning which would allow you to do this with your iPhone, but you would have to check. Just some food for thought. Hi All: I've just gotten into buying music from the i-store, I know "What took me so long" LOL. A couple questions for those who do this. With the search feature on my iphone, does it search all categories? If I want it to just search for a movie title can I tell it to just search movies? I have many cassettes I want to replace with digital copies, but at $10 a pop it's going to cost me a fortune, is there some sort of app out there that will let you know when certain music goes on sale? Also is there a way to create a wishlist on the iphone, either an app or through the Istore itself. Something that will let me store artists or album titles long term and give me the option to search the store regularly to see if they've gone on sale or if they've added new albums. Thanks for any suggestions/advice. Tessa -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group. Post a new message to VIPhone by emailing [email protected].
