Ok, thanks for tips; it works perfectly on another 4S here, so happy with that, I'll go deleting and re-installing.
Just read your text again, and OOooh, now the version on other 4S might be an older version, it has a real Bak button, now that is more like it. I found the thing about the video controls, even the pause button, which didn't pause it anyway. I'll re-install anyway just in case, then conclude it's gone west in easy accessibility. I hate fighting apps, they work or they're useless. If it requires minutes of acute concentration to do what sighted do mindlessly in seconds, I'm not interested, that's not relaxation. When your watching a video clip, you have to tap to show or hide the controls and they don't stay visible for to long but when they are visible, there is a play/pause button in the lower right hand corner.
