Yes that is what you need to do. If you place the files in the
automatic folder it will add folders for each artist and album and cut
off the name of files which are to long. For all it's worth it becomes
a huge mess.

iTunes does the
rest and places the files where they need to go.

Sorry, I know this was discussed before but I did not have
to do it at that time. I copied all the files from my
library to an external hard drive and on the win7 pc I
pasted the files to the place where iTunes stores the
library content but iTunes still only sees the five albums
which were there before. Must I add the albums from the
file
menu via the "copy folder" or what did I do wrong?
