Hi Matthew,

It is I believe possible to cut a standard SIM down to the size of a Nano
SIM, but even more difficult than cutting it to the size of a Micro SIM
which was used by the 4 and 4S. The problem is that a Nano SIM is also
thinner than a standard SIM hence I read online it is necessary to sand the
SIM after you cut it and there is a very good likelihood that unless you
really know what you are doing you will destroy your SIM.

If you buy an iPhone 5S whether on contract or at full price, you should be
able to easily ask AT&T to give you a Nano SIM and there is no problem
whatsoever to acvate your current cell number on that new SIM.

I think the only situation where trying to cut and sand a standard SIM would
be if you had an unlocked iPhone 5 and were visiting a country where you
could only get a standard SIM. The I guess you could try and find a place
where they offer to adapt SIM cardsand give it a try.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: iPhone 5s and older SIM cards?

Hi all.

I have an iPhone 3GS which I am looking to upgrade from. Is it possible to
make a standered SIM card work in say the iPhone 5s gfor example? If not,
how hard would it be to get a number transferred to a nano sim as I think
that is what is Bering used. I have AT&T as my carrier.

Thanks

Matthew
