Well, your statement begs the question "why?"

Hi Joseph and Mich,

I would strongly discourage anybody from using the custom label feature
(double tap and hold) as Joseph described it to rename folders.
You can "properly" rename a folder as follows:

1. Double tap on the folder to open it.
2. Do a 1-finger double tap and hold on either the folder name once the
folder is open or on one of the apps in the folder. If you do it on one of
the apps, let's say I have the Dropbox app in a folder called "Business and
Productivity", then the double tap and hold will put you into moving mode
and Voiceover will say "Moving Dropbox, Dropbox, is editing". If you do the
double tap and hold on the folder, you have to do another double tap and
hold to get into the actual editing mode.
3. If you did the gesture on an app, swipe left until you get to the folder
name or the "Clear All" button which will clear the edit field completely.
4. Delete part of the folder name or clear the entire field with the Clear
All button.
5. Type in what you want the folder to be called or do a 2-finger double tap
to start Dictating if you have an iPhone 4S or above and speak the folder
name.
6. Press the Home key to get out of editing mode, press home a second time
to close the folder.

Regards,
Sieghard

To rename a folder:
Focus on a folder then execute a 2-finger double-tap and hold.
You'll hear a cool little sound effect.
Now you can rename your folder.
When you have finished simply double-tap on "save."

I used this method to remove the word "folder" after every folder. Since I
already know it's a folder, seems a bit redundant. <Smile>.

Hi all. I just tonight spent about a hour and a bit dragging and dropping
things in to some folders and creating them on my IPhone 4s with ios7. This
was the first time I have dun this and I feel it went very well. I did have
a question though. How do you go about re naming folders in ios7? I don't
like some of the names that apple has for the folders and would like to re
name them if at all possible. I also wish that apple would have a option
where say if you have allot of games that instead of dragging and dropping
them in to the games folder that it would just add them or be like a toggle
where you could choose if you wanted to add this game to the games folder.
from Mich.
