I use kindle app on IPhone or iPad for kindle books and purchase audible books linked to amazon account and then read them if I choose on a digital recorder. I don't really use the whisper sink but my mom and I share the kindle account so she also is reading the kindle books.
Works for us. I read in kindle, Ibooks, audible and enjoy all of them.
