For me at least, I would prefer that this not be done automatically. IfI want touse the speaker phone, I can select it. This is one of those cases where I don't like the computer trying to make decisions for me.

I'm not sure where this is coming from that this is only a VO feature.

Non-VO users can have auto-switching as well.

I personally have always liked this feature and would never never never want to see it go! :)

A setting would certainly be welcome but that would be as far as I personally would go. :)

Great topic all, and have an awesome day!

Smiles,

Cara :)

Hi Sieghard. Personally, I really like the auto switching so I don't have to
worry about finding the speaker phone button. I haven't had much trouble at
all with this feature malfunctioning. This is on my 4s, let's see how the
5s does with this.

Hello Brice,

Yes, on my 4S this happens a lot especially during the first 10 or so
seconds of a call. However, I had this problem with iOS 6 as well, in fact,
I received a replacement 4S 64 Gb back in March because my camera wasn't
auto focusing any more and my old 4S was much better with that. Which phone
do you have, a 4, 4S, 5 or a brandnew 5C or 5S?
I would be interested to hear from people who already have their 5S if
anybody has that issue.

I actually think Apple should completely remove this automatic switching to
speakerphone. I don't understand why I can't tap the Speakerphone button
just like any sighted person if I want my call on Speakerphone and this
would completely get rid of this issue which has been an issue to some
degree for certain people for the last 4 years. What does everybody else
think, would you prefer to have to double tap on the Speakerphone button or
would you prefer to keep the automatic switching as is?

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Speaker Phone with Voiceover

Hi, everyone.

Sometimes, my phone switches to speaker phone automatically when I double
tap to answer a call and bring the phone to my ear. This only started
happening after I updated to IOS 7. Before that, I could always double tap,
immediately lift the phone to my ear and start talking with the speaker
phone reliably turned off. Now, my phone will occasionally switch to speaker
phone even when the phone is next to my head when I've just started a call.

I use my phone for work so this inconsistency is really frustrating.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Thanks,
Brice
