Hi Steve,

On my 4S I still hear just "Call" after each entry for the same person in
the Favorites tab. I would have been surprised if Apple had fixed this so
soon, typically the update with the first round of more comprehensive fixes
doesn't come out until about 6 weeks or so after the release, mostly late
October or early November. These early updates usually address immediate
security issues which Apple needs to fix right away just as this one more or
less was strictly a fix to prevent bypassing the lock screen.

It sort of makes sense that fixes to some of these bugs take a few weeks. I
am sure Apple gets lots of good feedback from the official beta testers, but
the real trial comes after the iOS is publically released and the start
receiving feedback from the masses. They then have to make sure reported
issues are really bugs, prioritise them and fix them.

Regards,

Sieghard

Hi Tom,

No, nothing you can do about this at this point except write to
[email protected] and report it and ask them to please fix it in the
next update (in a nice way of course). I was running iOS 7 Beta and noticed
that in the first 10 minutes because I do the same as you and sometimes add
somebody's home and cell number. However, as long as you know which one
comes first it's still useable, e.g. I usually put somebody's home number
first, then their cell number so when I touch the Favorites list I know that
if I tap on the top entry for a person it willcall their home and the one
below will call their cell. I have, however, written to Apple Accessibility
as well alreay and hope you do the same, only takes a few minutes and I am
convinced that the more emails they get about a particular issue the faster
it will be fixed.

Subject: Favorites in Contacts - Very Annoying

Hi folks,

Since upgrading to IOS 7, I've noticed some strange behavior in Contacts
that's really annoying. In the Favorites list I have my girlfriend and some
other friends and family members, and there are entries for their mobile
phones as well as their land lines. VoiceOver no longer identifies whether
an entry is for a mobile phone or a land line; all it says is "call".
That's not exactly helpful. So I have two questions:

1. Is there some sort of visual indicator that tells you whether the
favorite is a mobile phone or a land line, and is VoiceOver unable to
identify it properly?

2. Is there a setting that I can change to restore the original behavior?

   Thanks in advance.

Tom
