Hi Chuck, Paula and Max,

First of all, Max, unlocking the phone will not stop the timer. If you think
about this it would make the timer rather useless. If I set a timer for an
hour because I am cooking or baking something, I very well will want to use
my phone during that hour, maybe I want to make a call or receive a call
etc. The timer runs in the background and is unaffected by phone calls,
playing music or books etc.

Now, Paula and Chuck, I happen to be using the timer tonight quite a bit
since a customer of mine who is a hunter dropped me off a very nice Canada
Goose as well as a duck. I have been roasting the now stuffed goose for the
last 2 hours and had to set several 45 minute timers as the birdy needed to
be turned a few times.

So, what you will find is that the time does display the remaining time in
the lock screen, but you don't have a stop button until it goes off. Once it
goes off it will say Timer Done and there is a "Tap here to stop" button in
the lock screen.

Of course I use SIRI to set the timer since it is by far the easiest and
quickest method. OK, I just checked and I better go because my last 30
minute timer has only 2 minutes left. After this Mr. Goose is done, I will
have to take the stuffing out, get the grease off the juices and make the
sauce with what remains. Then it's on to carving the goose, the eating of it
will be tomorrow since it's already late. Bread dumplings and cooked red
cabbage will be the side dishes of this classic German meal! OK, the classic
German version is usually with a domestic goose and not a wild Canada Goose
*smile*.

Regards,
Sieghard
