The Motorola H19TXT does not have Bluetooth 4.0 capability. Technical
details state it only supports Bluetooth 3.0.

This Bluetooth earpiece pairs almost automatically with an iDevice. You need
only turn Bluetooth on using Control center or via settings > Bluetooth.

First turn on your iDevice.
Now put the earpiece on your ear and flick the mic open.
You will hear audio coming from the mic telling you it is pairing.
Swipe down the Bluetooth screen on your iDevice and accept the Bluetooth
headset as soon as it shows on screen.

tip: when wanting to use this Bluetooth headpiece after it's initial
pairing, first turn on your iDevice and it's Bluetooth capability, then
flick open the headset. By connecting in this order you will not get the
"ready to pair" prompt; the Bluetooth earpiece will connect automatically.

My experience with this headpiece:

I have found that I can go as far as some 30 feet before losing signal. The
specs state this Bluetooth headpiece has a range of 300 feet, which is
probably impossible outside of Motorola's R&D labs. Lots of similar reviews
on Amazon.

To test loss of signal or audio distortion, I walked 30 feet or so from my
iPod Touch 5th gen while turning my body around to investigate if I would
experience this phenomenon, and I had no signal loss at all. At about 30
feet, I stopped walking, I placed my hand over the earpiece, and I could no
longer hear the audio. If I removed my hand away from the earpiece I would
once again begin hearing the audio after about 3 seconds. within about 10
feet of my iDevice I placed my hand over the earpiece and did not experience
any loss of audio at all. these findings are a result of my simple 2 minute
tests, and of course, because your living environment will undoubtedly vary,
you should have a different but similar experience.

Don't forget to go into Control Center to turn off Bluetooth when not using
as Bluetooth devices are battery hogs.

Oh yeah, I've not experienced any echoing effect.

After the initial use, in the event you do need to pair the earpiece, it
pairs automatically in about 7 seconds. When you turn off the earpiece, the
audio will start coming out of your iDevice in less than a second.

This thing is small so be absolutely sure you find a single spot for it and
"always" put it back in that same spot as this thing will get lost very
quickly if one isn't mindful of where the item is put down. To give you the
idea of the size of this thing, it feels like a thick pair of short nail
clippers.

I couldn't figure out how the heck to attach the included foam ear plug
things. <Smile>.

Subject: Re: Performance of the motorola h19txt bluetooth earpiece with IOS7
questions:

All bluetooth earpieces suffer from occasional break-up when on the opposite
side of your body. The closer the phone is to your body, the size of your
body, and the bluetooth version, all play a role in how much the break-up
will effect you.

Basically, water in body mass is a radio frequency absorber. The closer to
your body the radio source is, the more the radio frequencies are absorbed.
Therefore, nobody can answer your questions with absolute assurity.

That said, the Motorola H19TXT supports bluetooth 4.0. In line of sight
tests, bluetooth 4.0 can range 75 feet from the transmitting device and
still receive clear signal. This higher output level means one's body should
block less of the radio signal, so one should experience fewer choppy
cross-body connection problems compared with earlier bluetooth version
devices.

As to the occasional echo and sound problems from iOS 6, I have not yet
experienced any of these problems in iOS 7, so am hopeful that Apple has
corrected this issue.
