I think the only real problem here is if it won't reliably switch to what you are trying to switch it to and stay there until you switch to the other. Beyond that concern, the problem depends on how you like to use your phone. Personally, I wish we could get it to go to speaker phone, even when initiating a call, until I desire to swtch it to the ear piece. People site it as part of the problem that it going to the speaker first, and that is really only part of the issue if that is not your preference. On my 5S phone calls and the speaker and switching is working perfectly. I restored from a backup when setting it up. I have a 5 that when on a call the prox sensor refuses to do a thing for about the first 3 to 5 minutes of the call and then all of a sudden it kicks in, even though I am talking on speaker and forces it to the ear piece until I use the on screen controls to force it back. At the beginning of the call it goes to the ear piece initially, and will not react to the sensor and I have to use the on screen controls to get it to speaker. While initially on the ear piece, the screen does not go inactive even if I hold it to my ear. Simply, the sensor will not work until about 5 minutes into a call on that phone. I tried an entire new setup on it and did not restore from any backup. I tried resetting network settings. I just mention it as an example. Luckily I don't care about this device any more anyway.
