It looks like that second delete button gets focus when you toggle the
delete switch to on, so you should be able to just double tap again and
delete the book. That's how it appears to work for me after just a
minute or two of playing around with it.

delete switch for the book you want to delete. Double tap on this
button to toggle it to yes and then double tap on the delete button.
I haven't had any problem deleting books this way.
