I'll take a look at referbished ipads. I bought a referbished ipod touch
5th generation a while back.

Russ, I just ordered a refurbished Mini yesterday for the reason you
mention, i.e., better sound for reading BARD books. I got a 32GB black for
$360-something, including taxes. I could have waited for a refurbished new
Mini, but I am not sure the improvements in processor and screen do much for
my uses, plus the higher price.
I also purchased a very nifty case and keyboard for the Mini off Amazon. If
you are interested, I can look up the information.
