Hi Katey,

I upgraded from a 4S to a 5S and the 5S is a beautiful phone. However, if I
wasn't a bit of a gadget guy I could have easily stuck with the 4S for
another year. Yes, the 5S is a bit faster, but for day-to-day stuff like
making Phone calls, sending emails or text messages or just opening apps and
doing normal stuff you should not expect to be blown away by how much faster
it is. Apps maybe open a bit faster than on my 4S, but once they are open it
is much the same experience.

I actually find that Voiceover and SIRI sounded slightly better on my4S than
they do on my 5S.

I don't think the volume thing is a big deal, it's annoying but hopefully
something Apple will fix shortly. I guess you can always wait until 7.1 is
released which shouldn't be more than a few weeks to see if some of this has
been fixed.

The Touch Id works well, I somewhat experience what some people have said in
that for some reason it doesn't seem to like one of my fingers any more
which I set up and which worked well before. I am planning to delete all of
my finger print scans and redo them and then I'll see how it goes over the
next few weeks and whether this happens again.

Like I said, it's your choice if you want to upgrade. If you plan to do so
on contract I would possibly think twice because I could potentially see the
iPhone in 2014 which most likely will be the iPhone 6 if history serves
(iPhone 4/iPhone 4S, iPhone 5/iPhone 5S) being a bigger deal and maybe a
departure of the current form factor. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if
next year there will be even more han 2 versions as Apple might add a larger
size iPhone to it's line-up.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: considering updating from a 4s to a 5s

Hello All,

I've heard some of the problems some of you have had with the iPhone 5s,
namely if you turn the volume in the rotor lower than 35% it won't go higher
and of course some fingerprint reader issues.

Does this effect everyone? Do you regret updating? Since the last iOS
update my 4s seems more stable, no hypersensitivity issues and the phone
after it rings stays in the ear piece.

I realize the iOS will definately be faster, so what do you think?
