When in the in box, you can flick up or down to get to delete and then
you can double tap. If you have hints turned on in VoiceOver and you set
your preview in the mail app to display a handful of lines then you can
hear quite a bit of an email and decide if you want to read the whole
thing, save it for later or just delete it. This can make processing
your email pretty snappy. Alternatively, you can open a message and then
find and double tap the delete button at the bottom of the screen, right
above the home button.
