One tiny point of clarification. From what I've read, bluetooth has a
maximum range of 100 meters or approximately 333 feet, and this includes
the 2.0 specification. Class 1 devices (transmitters and receivers) can
theoretically attain this range, but most devices are class 2 with an
effective range of 10 meters or 33 feet. Class 3 devices are for very
short ranges, only up to 1 meter or 3 feet. A lot can interfere with
your bluetooth range though, so you shouldn't expect to nail that 30
feet. Like I said, I'm just mentioning this for clarification. The
specification lays out the maximum range but the class of device
determines how much of that maximum range you can expect.

There are a few things to consider. First, and most important, the bluetooth
earpiece headset, whether mono or stereo, must support the A2DP profile. This
profile is normally used for transmission of music over Bluetooth, so almost
every stereo headset has it. Nowadays, many mono headsets also support the
profile, but there are still many that do not. If you only hear VO in your
earpiece during a call, your earpiece does not support A2DP, and the only
option is to acquire a new earpiece.
Your second issue is a little more complicated. Bluetooth 2.0, which most earpieces
use, has a range of 10 feet. However, when the iPhone is in your pocket, the water
content of your body blocks a significant amount of the signal. When I am using my
Bluetooth "b.0 headset, I cannot get a proper connection if the phone is in the
pocket on the other side of my body. If I use a coat pocket, the phone is usually
far enough away from my body that the signal is not strongly mitigated by my body.
In other words, I can use the phone across my body, unless the jacket construction
has materials that dampen the signal.
That said, I have a Bluetooth headset which uses Bluetooth 3.0. This profile
permits a signal of up to 75 feet line of sight. When the iPhone is in my
pocket on the opposite side of my body, I get a clear signal most of the time.
There can still be some signal degradation occasionally, but it usually works.
However, if I put my iPhone in the pocket on the same side as my earpiece, it
works quite well. The Bluetooth 3.0 earpiece I use is the Motorola H19TXT.
Note: the H19 does not provide A2DP profile. It must be the H19TXT model.

Hi to all,
this is my first message on the list.
I think that this problem has been already explained. Enyway…
I need to to buy a mono headset bluetooth, fully functional with voice over and
siri.
Now I own a plantroix pl 165, and I’m encountering some difficulties.
The quality of conversation is not good. If I put the iphone 5c in my pocket,
sometime I can’t Hear the voice of the conversation.
With siri, my commands don’t work properly: siri doesn’t understand anything,
or doesn’t understand wath I’m seeing, and she doesn’t answer correctly.
When I receive a new cal, the voice over announces the caller id out of the
headset, and I have to answer without now how is calling.
I test this headset mono on iphone 4s, iphone 5 and 5c, with latest firmware
version: iOS 7.0.3.
The results are the same.
But, if I use this device without voiceover, it seems to work properly.
I’m sort for my incorrect English.
Any suggestions? An app to use to fix this problem?
A new model of headset mono to buy’
My italian fiends use a lots of headset, but not mon headset, but stereo
headset.
I’m totally blind and I have to use a none had set to walk while I’m talking at
the phone.
I had a dengereus experience using the iphone without anything, because, while
I’m talking with one of my fiends, someone decided to steal my device form my
hend.
Hovviously “find my iphone” doesn’t work, because I read about someone able to
change the serial number and the imdi of the apple devices.
Now I use the device in the pocket. With the headset I can hear the voiceover,
with a bluetooth mini keyboard I can use the idevice.
Minikeyboard: 20 eurs .
Tanks in advance.
