Marianne, I think Sieghard did a wonderful job at explaining some of the problems and possible solutions when it comes to changing the cost structure of apps. Since we go through Apple for distribution it is not very easy to set up an external system to discount the app. There are guidelines that need to be followed. Also, since the app is worldwide, things get very tricky.
We're still hashing out the subscriptions. I believe it will take us some time to get enough data back to fully understand a better alternative, if there is one. At the moment, as you've probably heard, we are in place where we either need to switch to the subscription model or shut the app down completely. We've kept it free for over a year, but the costs we piling up. Also, Sieghard, I'd like to thank you for providing an additional tip for identifying can products. I will add it to our website. If anyone else has a tip on how to take better pictures with TapTapSee, then please share it with the rest of the group.
